Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

MatrlsAI is an organization based in Bangalore, India, building practical AI tools for everyday Indian businesses. MatrlsAI runs two projects, each with its own mobile app:

  • SwiftLR — digitises handwritten lorry receipts for transport offices.
  • HeyStock — voice-first stock and bookkeeping for Indian shops.

In this Privacy Policy, "we", "us", and "our" refer to MatrlsAI, and "the apps" means SwiftLR and HeyStock. "You" refers to any person who uses our website (matrlsai.in) or either app. Where a section applies to only one app, it says so.

2. What Information We Collect

Both apps collect:

  • Account information — your name, mobile number, and business or shop name when you register.
  • Device information — device model, operating system version, app version, and a device identifier used to bind your account to your phone and prevent misuse.
  • Usage and crash data — which features you use and when, and crash reports, to fix bugs and improve the apps.
  • Subscription status — your plan, billing dates, and payment status. Payments are processed by Razorpay; we do not see or store your card, UPI, or bank details.

SwiftLR also collects:

  • Lorry receipt data — details you enter or scan: consignee name, consignor name, goods description, freight amount, GST number, and route information.
  • WhatsApp contact numbers — mobile numbers of consignees you choose to notify, stored only to deliver notifications you authorise.

HeyStock also collects:

  • Shop records — items, stock quantities, prices, sales, and returns you enter, plus your shop's pincode.
  • Voice recordings — when you use Voice in the Entry tab, the clip you record is sent to our speech-to-text provider to turn it into text. Recordings are used only to understand your entry.
  • Invoice photos — when you use Scan, the photo is processed to read the invoice lines and is deleted after your entry is saved (and in any case within 24 hours).
  • Customer credit and supplier records — names of customers and suppliers you record and the amounts owed or paid. Customer and supplier names are stored encrypted. You confirm you have your customer's consent before recording their credit for the first time.

HeyStock does not collect GST numbers or tax data. Neither app collects Aadhaar numbers, payment card details, or any other sensitive personal data beyond what is listed above.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and operate the apps — for SwiftLR, generating digital LRs and sending WhatsApp notifications; for HeyStock, understanding your voice, text, and scanned entries and keeping your stock, sales, credit, and supplier records.
  • Send you reports and alerts you have turned on — such as SwiftLR's nightly dispatch summary, or HeyStock's nightly shop report and low-stock alerts — by WhatsApp or push notification.
  • Send one-time passwords (OTPs) by SMS to verify your mobile number.
  • Process subscription payments and manage your plan.
  • Diagnose and fix technical problems in the apps.
  • Improve the accuracy of our AI features, using anonymised and aggregated data only.
  • Contact you about important service updates or changes to this policy.

We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to any third party.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • AI processing — to read handwriting, invoices, and spoken or typed entries, the relevant text, image, or audio is processed by our AI providers (Google Cloud / Gemini, and Sarvam AI for Indian-language speech in HeyStock). They process it only to return a result to us.
  • Messaging — mobile numbers are passed to our SMS and WhatsApp messaging providers (and through them to WhatsApp / Meta) solely to deliver OTPs and the messages you initiate or enable.
  • Payments — subscription payments are handled by Razorpay, under Razorpay's own privacy policy.
  • Service providers — cloud hosting, push notification, analytics, and crash reporting providers who are contractually bound to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes.
  • Legal obligations — if required by Indian law or a valid court order, we may disclose information to the appropriate authorities.

5. Data Storage and Retention

Your data is stored on servers located in India. We keep your data for as long as your account is active.

  • SwiftLR — LR records are retained in anonymised form for 2 years after account deletion, for GST audit purposes. See SwiftLR account deletion.
  • HeyStock — when the owner deletes the account, shop records are permanently deleted after a 7-day window during which the deletion can be cancelled. See HeyStock account deletion.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest, and additionally encrypt personal details such as customer and supplier names. Access to production data is restricted to authorised personnel only. While we take reasonable precautions, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Delete your account from within either app, or request deletion by email (subject to legal retention requirements).
  • Withdraw consent for WhatsApp or push notifications at any time within the app settings.

8. Children's Privacy

SwiftLR and HeyStock are business tools intended for adults running or working in transport offices and shops. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify registered users via the app or WhatsApp. Continued use of the apps after a change takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
